Is radical mindset change required for senior leaders

This blog series will seek to dialectically explore the radical change required of our company leaders to truly become Agile.

I believe we are in the heart of a management revolution. We have companies like Apple, SpaceX, Kickstarter, all bringing to life products and delivery in a radical way. Legacy management mindset has been replaced with innovative views of traditional matters and practices.   Yes replaces the word no, trust has replaced the word control,  month has been replaced year and soon it will be Day.

The world has moved from process work to knowledge work, and manufacturing is now creationing.  Most leaders in position of power and influence (lets say 95%+) have all been educated in classical management theories rooted in 1900’s turn of the century industrial revolution.  The system is out of step with the creationing revolution.

Are organisations seeking to hang onto the past by trying to turn Agile into a process or do we need to leap further? Is the near leap to mere Agile enough, or are we missing the cohesive “Creationing management theory” that provides the next stable footings.

If nothing else perhaps we need to also address the budget and money management mechanisms.   Beyond budgeting is the only answer I have seen but are CFOs taking interest and in essence driving similar radical Agile change?

Questions still remain.
